Agents
An agent is an alpha hunt on a schedule. It does exactly what clicking Run an alpha hunt does (picks an idea, builds it, tests it, fixes it, stress-tests the winner, grades it) except it does it while you're asleep. You come back to strategies already found and already graded, sitting in Promoted, waiting for a yes or a no.
Set one up
Agents live in the right-hand rail of the Quant Mode page.
- Click an empty slot.
- Give it a name.
- Point it at a group, or leave it unattached.
- Start it.
That's the whole setup. There is no schedule to configure and no settings to tune.
What it does
An agent finds 5 ideas across the day, roughly one every five hours, then parks.
It parks on purpose. Five finished ideas is a full graveyard's worth of new evidence, and running more hunts before reading that evidence just means repeating the same mistakes faster. Hit Learn on the Quant Mode page and the agent un-parks with a rewritten playbook.
An agent holds no brain of its own. The playbook and the graveyard belong to your account, not to the agent, so every agent you run gets smarter at the same time. The only thing that makes two agents different is which group they hunt in.
Why you'd run more than one
Slots are parallelism, not power. Three agents each doing one hunt costs exactly what one agent doing three costs.
The reason to use several on Elite is coverage: point each one at a different group and they hunt to different mandates at the same time. One working a prop-firm challenge under an 8% drawdown cap, one on crypto with no limits, one on index futures.
Reviewing what it found
Nothing an agent finds is ever traded, exported or acted on. It builds and grades, then stops. Every result waits in Promoted for you to approve or kill, exactly like a hunt you started by hand. See Quant Mode for what those two buttons do.
Fine print
- Pro and Elite only. Starter and free plans have no premium allowance, so no agents.
- Pausing an agent stops it firing. Parking happens on its own after 5 ideas and clears when you Learn.
- Agents are charged per hunt, at dispatch, from the same premium allowance as everything else, so an agent can't quietly run past your plan. When the allowance is gone, hunts stop.
